Thursday 1st February 2018
Wow, February already.
Just anchoring in Cabo San Lucas. Showery and a bit windy.
Rather early start today, have to be in the theatre at 9am to meet for our trip today, whale watching in the Sea of Cortez. Tendering operations today so a bit slow getting ashore. All wasted as they announced a cancelation as soon as we got to the dock, blaming the weather and a low likelihood of actually seeing any whales. Still I guess that’s better than a boat ride in poor weather and not seeing anything anyway. Literally took a five minute walk to see the town, not much here, all new development, hotels etc. and shops catering for the wealthy. And it’s raining and blowing just at the moment.
Back on the tender, delayed by windy weather, but soon back on our way to the ship. Sealions swimming in the harbour begging for fish from the local fishermen. Back on board Elizabeth to enjoy a coffee and an overlook of the sea for distant views of a few Humpback Whales as the weather slowly improves, rain cleared and wind decreasing.
Sailaway just after sunset, should have been great views of dramatic coast, but it was a bit too dark by the time we got away.
Buffet dinner tonight, Mexican theme, mmm delicious, favourite!
Then to theatre for “La Danza”, singers and dancers, mostly dancers! Excellent.
