Days 12 and 13 - at Sea

Friday and Saturday, 5th and 6th April 2019

Sailing distance from Limassol to Civitavecchia  = 1243 nm

Friday

Sailing through the Mediterranean.  Overcast and cooler today, so quiet on deck and activities rather busy.  Passing 30 nm South of Crete.  Sea slightly more active but not a problem, ship very steady.

Another lecture today by Paul Fellows, this time “From the Pendulum to Dark Matter”, a interesting description of the beginnings of the scientific study of motion, the pendulum, and how these studies led to the determination of dark matter in the universe being necessary to balance the motion of planets and galaxies.

Saturday

Rounded southern point of Italy then North through the Messina Strait between Italy and Sicily and onward with great views of Stromboli.

Weather remains less than perfect!

The World Club cocktail party tonight, very busy, more and more passengers seem to attend these functions as everybody seems to be regular cruisers, hardly any new cruisers these days!

Entertainment tonight in the theatre Phillip Browne, star of Lion King among other musicals, excellent show again.
