Day 10 - Barcelona, Spain

Monday 1st October 2018

Capital of Catalonia and Spain’s second largest city.  Everywhere you will see the ornately wrought works of Antonio Gaudi, a local architect, culminating in the surrealistic spires of the yet to be finished Sagrada Familia.  Take a stroll down Las Ramblas, sample local wines and authentic tapas, or visit the home of Barcelona FC.

Start of the day as the sun rises just as we berth in Barcelona.  Berth A - nearest the town, never been right at the end of the mole before.
No trip planned for today.

Took advantage of the quiet ship to get the laundry done whilst enjoying a leisurely breakfast, morning coffee and a swim in the pool.  Nice warm day with plenty of sun to enjoy.

In the afternoon took just a short walk ashore to get some photos.  Lots of ships in port today.  I guess this is not unusual.

Sagrada Familia (by Gaudi)

Today being the first anniversary of the Catalan independence riots it's expected there were demonstrations in the town, there was some disruption to tours and most shops etc. were closed.

Dinner this evening in the alternative dining option. Steakhouse menu. American Diner style, delicious. Makes a nice change from Cunard’s usual choices.

Very late Sailaway, 11 pm, day at sea tomorrow.
