Day 15 - Civitaveccia, Italy

6th October 2018

Early arrival this morning.
We seem to have been given the last option of a berth way down at the commercial end of the docks.

Even the Italian Navy have better spots than us. However there is some compensation, their aircraft carrier, complete with helicopters and jump jets, should give us protection from any risks.

Weather this morning cloudy and showers. Not a very nice ending to the holiday for all the passengers leaving the ship to travel home.

We are not going ashore today, just not nice enough to encourage any adventures, even as far as the local sights.  Plenty to do on board, there is of course another chance to see the port later in the cruise.

The afternoon cleared up no end, cloud melted away and the sun came out again.

Lots of new passengers appeared today, wandering the decks, very disruptive to the harmony of the ship. Oh well! all will quieten down again in a day or two.
