Day 24 - at sea in the Adriatic

Monday 15th October 2018

Day at sea today on our way to Dubrovnik.

Very pleasantly warm though still quite hazy, sea remains calm with no sun, yet.

Morning turned wet, so into the pub for morning trivia.  Joined our usual team, us plus one very pleasant Australian Lady, she now without the two other Australians who got off the ship in Venice.

Brilliant effort today, the 3 of us won with an unbeatable 17 out of 20. Our first time beating the usual champion team of 4 in a straight fight.

All morning lots of birds flying around the ship, A number of small brown birds including a starling, a group of 8 spoonbills and a flock of pigeons being pursued by what looked like 3 peregrines. We must be on some sort of migration route.

Time for a short break. before the wine tasting. Then almost straight to the afternoon trivia! equal first on points, but lost the tiebreaker. So close.

Then its five minutes sit down before getting out the suit to go to the captain's cocktail. Busy these sea days!

Short chat by Captain Tomas Connery, mostly about the upcoming weather, sunny for the next week, much cheering at that announcement.

Then a quick breakdown of the numbers and nationalities of the passengers and the crew.  2038 passengers from 33 nations, 970 crew from 49 nations. Very cosmopolitan.

Dinner in the main dining room, we have a new table , a table for two in the perfect position, great views out on the ship's wake. We certainly are privileged to have this table.

And so back to rest ready for tomorrow in Dubrovnik.
